Ancient Rome Hunt

€49 per person
A Rome vacation almost always starts with a tour of the ruins of the ancient city. But what do you really see in a place full of ancient ruins? This is where an expert guide comes in: to let you experience ancient Rome through stories and great storytelling. We want this to be a memorable family learning and bonding time so we created an exciting scavenger hunt for the kids to actively engage them on the tour. Let’s go! When one thinks of Rome, the Coliseum is the first thing that comes to mind. It could also come second if one thinks more of gelato, especially when visiting Rome with kids. The Coliseum is an absolute must see. Rome’s most famous icon and the greatest arena in the ancient world does not disappoint. To see it in front of your very eyes, in all its grandeur, is an experience not forgotten easily. It literally gives you goosebumps and transports you to a time long gone, the time of ancient Rome and its glorious empire. The Coliseum is a family favorite, kids are greatly fascinated with the gladiators and the wild animals that gazed the center of this arena. While adults are keen to know more about the architecture and engineering of this world-famous amphitheater. Come inside and let your expert storyteller make history come alive. Listen to the cheering crowd of 65,000 to 80,000 spectators. Hear lions and tigers roar, imagine the elephants and even rhinoceros and hippopotamuses roaming. Thereafter, from below, mighty gladiators finally arrive, armed to the teeth ready for the show. Was it really only a staged show? Come with us and discover more!
Now the Roman Forum, the most celebrated meeting place in the world. Today you will find heaps of ruins of what was once the heart of ancient Rome. Your guide, with special materials, will show you the impressive original state of the Roman Forum. This was the place to be seen and heard, the center of the Roman life, the playground of emperors. There were triumphal arches and even the sacred street for triumphal marches is still here. For mythology fans, the temples dedicated to Roman deities were also built here. This was the commercial, religious and political center of Rome. Here’s a challenge, the first to find the letters and the meaning of S.P.Q.R. inside the Forum gets an extra gelato (from mom!) Now go back to where it all started and see for yourself the very place where Rome was born – the Palatine Hill. The Romans loved myths and legends, well who doesn’t? Stories say that the founder of Rome, Romulus, and his brother, Remus, were saved by a She-Wolf. Romulus later on founded the Eternal City on this very hill, one of the seven hills of Rome. An intriguing and interesting myth about the origin of Rome and its divine connection to the Roman gods is one story that kids and adults
will surely love.
If you and your family want more mythology, then you can choose to skip the Palatine Hill and head up to the Capitoline Hill. This is the smallest but the most important hill of Rome. The place where the Temple of Jupiter once was, the most important sanctuary in all ancient Rome dedicated to their three most important deities. Find out who! A cultural tour of ancient ruins is a great learning experience for kids and adults alike if done in a fun way. This tour is all outdoors so kids have more freedom to move around. But because there could be many distractions, an excellent and fun guide is a must. Make your very first taste of Rome something that the whole family will love. Remember all the ruins are just ruins if you don’t have the right guide. Come with us! It’s more fun with Rome4Kids.
